Childcare for Voters

Childcare is Expensive and Shouldn’t be a Barrier to Voting

Making sure every eligible voter can vote is the bedrock of democracy. The cost of childcare can be a barrier to parents voting especially when a long line or voter intimidation is expected. At Politisit, we believe that parents shouldn't have to choose between voting and care for their children.

Become a Partner to Host Childcare for Voters

Federal, State, and Local Elections are all eligible for funding

The Childcare for Voters program began in 2020, and we continue to grow every year. As we head into the 2026 midterms, we're looking for local organizations to partner with who can set up and provide care to help more parents get to the polls this November.

The process is simple and begins with a quick form. Click the button below to get started or send us an email to connect.

The process is simple:

Application Form

Fill out the our online Application to provide childcare for voters.

Set Up Childcare

Care is established based on the providers’ space and time availability.

Report Back to Us

At the end of the day(s) childcare has been provided, fill out our online certification form.

We Send You a Check

Politisit sends a check or Zelle transfer to the organization to reimburse the costs of the childcare.

Childcare Reimbursement — North Carolina

Already have a babysitter, family member, or provider you trust? In North Carolina, we make it easy to keep using them.

Instead of a fixed drop-in location, Politisit will reimburse you for the cost of childcare on Election Day so you can go vote without worrying about who's watching your kids.

Here's how it works:

  1. Apply now. Fill out our interest form to let us know you'd like to use the reimbursement program. Funding is limited and we're able to cover requests in the order we receive them — the sooner you apply, the better your chances.

  2. Set up care with the provider of your choice. A babysitter, a family member, a daycare — whoever works best for your family and schedule.

  3. Go vote. Use your care however works best around your voting plans.

  4. Fill out our reimbursement form. After you apply, we'll follow up by email with next steps, including the form to submit once you've voted.

  5. Get reimbursed. We'll send payment straight to you.

Every request we can fund means one more parent who doesn't have to choose between their kids and their vote. Right now, funding is limited — your gift helps us say yes to more families.
