Civics & Advocacy Education

From Curious to Confident: Civics 101 for Parents

A free half-day event hosted in the Portland metro area for parents and caregivers — no experience required.

Ever wondered how government really works? How to actually get someone to listen? How everyday Oregonians make their voices count?

On April 29th, we're hosting a community event designed to answer exactly those questions — in plain language, with real elected officials in the room, and with your life (and your kids) in mind.

Come curious. Leave confident, informed, connected, and ready to engage.

Want to be involved but don’t know where to start?

We get it. That’s why we’re putting together educational materials and opportunities.

Keep an eye here for upcoming events.

**NEW**

Starting in March 2026, Politisit will be launching a new series: Civics & Advocacy Office Hours — How This Actually Works, a relaxed, in-person space to learn how civic systems function, ask real questions, and connect with neighbors who want to be more engaged.

No jargon, no lectures, and no pressure to be an expert — just practical clarity and good conversation.

If you have questions or you’d like to partner with us to bring civic engagement or advocacy training to your organization, let us know! info@politisit.org
